Fluid Transfer Systems

Industrial Fluid Transfer Solutions Engineered for Your Process

Moving fluid through an industrial facility sounds simple — until you account for pressure differentials, temperature extremes, corrosive media, regulatory compliance, and the cost of an unexpected failure. Lovett Mechanical designs and installs fluid transfer solutions that account for all of it. Whether you’re transferring water, chemicals, steam, gases, slurries, or process fluids, we engineer systems that move what needs to move — safely, efficiently, and without interruption.

What Are Fluid Transfer Solutions?

Fluid transfer solutions encompass the full system of components used to transport liquids and gases from one point to another within an industrial or commercial facility. This includes piping and tubing, pumps, valves, hoses, fittings, expansion joints, and the controls that regulate flow, pressure, and temperature throughout the system.

Unlike off-the-shelf piping, an engineered fluid transfer system is designed around the specific fluid being transported, the pressures and temperatures involved, the distances and elevations the fluid must travel, and any regulatory or sanitary requirements. The result is a system optimized for your process — not a generic solution retrofitted to your needs.

Our Fluid Transfer System Services

Lovett Mechanical provides comprehensive fluid transfer services from system design through commissioning. We work on new construction, facility expansions, and retrofits — and our teams are equipped to integrate with existing infrastructure.

Fluid Transfer System Design & Engineering

Every reliable fluid transfer system starts with a thorough engineering review. Our team evaluates fluid properties, flow rates, operating pressures and temperatures, material compatibility, and applicable codes before a single pipe is cut. We produce detailed system layouts, equipment specifications, and P&IDs to guide fabrication and installation.

Piping and Tubing Installation

We install the full range of pipe materials used in industrial fluid transfer, including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, CPVC, HDPE, and specialty alloys. Our pipe installations are made to ASME B31.3 process piping and ASME B31.1 power piping standards, with proper supports, expansion accommodation, and pressure testing on completion.

Pump and Valve Integration

Fluid transfer systems depend on properly selected and installed pumps, control valves, isolation valves, and pressure relief devices. We source, install, and commission pumping equipment and valve assemblies that are matched to your system’s flow and pressure requirements, and we can coordinate startup testing with your operations team.

Hose Assemblies and Flexible Connections

Where rigid pipe is impractical — at equipment connections, pump inlets and outlets, or where vibration isolation is needed — we fabricate and install industrial hose assemblies and flexible metal connections suited to the fluid, pressure, and temperature of your application.

Heat Tracing and Insulation

For fluids that must be maintained at temperature during transfer — viscous materials, steam condensate systems, freeze-protection lines — we install heat tracing systems and industrial insulation to maintain process temperatures and protect against heat loss or freeze damage.

Fluid Transfer System Testing and Commissioning

Before any system goes live, we conduct hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure testing, system flushing, and final inspection to verify leak-free performance. We provide complete documentation including test reports, as-built drawings, and equipment data sheets.

Fluids and Media We Handle

Our fluid transfer systems are designed around what’s actually flowing through them. We have experience engineering and installing systems for:

  • Process water and utility water
  • Steam and condensate
  • Compressed air and inert gases
  • Chemical solutions and reagents
  • Acids, caustics, and corrosive fluids
  • Oils, lubricants, and hydraulic fluids
  • Slurries and abrasive media
  • Cryogenic liquids
  • Food-grade and sanitary process fluids
  • Wastewater and effluent streams
